Bwindi impenetrable national park at 331sq km has gorilla tracking as its unique selling point or attraction with 4 gorilla tracking trail heads. only 8 booked tourists per group per day are allowed for tracking. There other attractions around the park that you may consider after tracking.
What to do!
Gorilla tracking can be challenging and we advise that one should be reasonably fit before undertaking this activity. Gorilla tracking can be done from Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo and Rushaga, being in any of these groups depends on allocation from your permit.
Tracking can take up to 8hrs depending on where the gorillas are this starts at 8:00am. Get a chance to see birds in the process of tracking. (Booking is required in advance)

- Muhanga river trail below Buhoma for birds and primates.
- Rushaga trail for an expansive view of the western rift valley, lake Edward and Rwenzori mountains in the north (on clear days) waterfalls
- Hike on Rukubira hill for great views of Bwindi impenetrable forest, virunga volcanoes and the western rift valley.
